"Werreld Kaert" from 1718, when the best knowledge about the world at the time could be met with a sense of presentation. Shows the continents pretty well defined with interiors yet to be grasped. Australia is a primitive coast with an apparent land bridge to New Guinea. Also shows California as an island. This map includes surrounding cartouche appears themed around the old standard elements of "Fire, Air, Earth, Water". Shirley #493
