    The impact of Captain Cook's explorations were vast at the time. They introduced new cultures, dismissed the existence of mythic continents, employeed the latest scientific methods, and laid the foundation for a new era of settlement and commerce. This print from the third and final expedition of Cook and his men was from a richly engraved French edition.

    A depiction of the view of the town and harbor of gives a glimpsre of life in St. Peter and St. Paul. The small coastal village is shown with women, children and dogs. There is also a view of the open sea, fishing boats and a majestic mountain.

    Condition is very good. Sheet size is 9.25 x 19.75 (inches).
