  • (Southwest) Topographical Map of the Road From Fort Smith, Ark.s to Santa Fe, N.M. And Dona Ana, N.M. To Fort Smith, Marcy – US Govt.,

An early and masterful depiction of Southwest, spanning across present day Oklahoma, the Texas panhandle as well as the New Mexican missions. Rich with trails and practical notations for traveling, it shows the travel route of Marcy, well characterizing the nearby lands they encountered. Marcy's route clung to the southern bank of the Canadian river and returns crossing the Pecos, Brazos and Red rivers. Notes several native trails “Apache Trail” and “Comanche Trail...”. An under appreciated map for the region. Professionally cleaned and lined, this is a beautiful example of a map that usually suffers from deteriorated paper, this is very clean. Nicely enclosed in mylar.

Image size is 15 x 28, uncolored as issued.
