A beautiful promotional Birdseye of a town still in its infancy, but showing a wealth of refinement and promise. It's a small town north of Amherst Mass., and at the time of this view's publication, it wasn't even a decade old and was planned as an industrial town. Indeed at the bottom of the image are views of the John Russell Cutlery Co. and the Montague Paper Co., both on the banks of the Connecticut river. Numerous canals are shown connecting to the river, with a suspension bridge spanning the river. In the town it shows architectural detail for the many homes and buildings with a key of 15 places of note. A beautiful lithograph with muted colors.

A rarity, we don't see evidence of it being offered through the price record

Condition is very good with some marginal very light soiling. Image size is approximately 20.5 x 28.25 (inches)
